The photo pictures her first husband James (Jimmie) Dougherty in his USMS gym clothes at the Catalina Ball Park. This photo was taken on Santa Catalina Island, after Dougherty had enlisted in the Merchant Marines and a 17-year-old Norma Jeane Baker had moved with her husband. The photo is boldly captioned by Marilyn on the reverse Jimmie in his Gym clothes, also these are the work clothes of the Physical training instructors.
